More Dem hypocrisy

Senator Harry Reid wants a bailout for the Detroit Three.

And then, along with fellow Democrat Senators Baucus, Lincoln & Tester voted against it.

Four other Democrats, (Biden, Kennedy, Kerry & Wyden) didn't bother to vote.

Entitlement mentality

Ousted Mundy Township Supervisor Karen Bond applied for unemployment benefits citing "involuntary retirement." Why do you apply for unemployment benefits if you know you're not eligible?

Ted Kennedy...typical Democrat hypocrite

The good senator says he's in favor of "free and open communication"..."no matter what your political agenda, no matter what your political party." Yeah, right. Just try to post an opposing opinion. They block anyone with doesn't agree.

Democrats know best, as usual.

Even if you are in favor of the ending of innocent life, how could you possibly justify voting against (S.403) a bill that would make it illegal to transport a minor across state lines for the purpose of circumventing parental notification laws? I guess Senators Stabenow & Levin know better than parents what is best for their child.

Democrats and minorities

How interesting to see the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee video comparing illegal immigrants to terrorists. (I hope you get to view it before they pull it). Seems they have angered some in the Hispanic community. Funny...I thought it was the Republicans who were racist anti-minority bigots.

Rep. Kennedy crashes car near Capitol

Representative Patrick Kennedy, son of Ted, was involved in a one vehicle accident approximately 3:00 am Thursday morning. Like father, like son. "A statement on the police Web site says, "The United States Capitol Police are investigating a traffic violation that occurred in the early morning hours ... in the 100 Block of C Street, SE." They did not identify who was involved or provide other details. The officials said officers at the scene reported seeing the car swerve before the crash and said Kennedy appeared intoxicated. After the accident, they drove Kennedy home. There was no indication from the sources that a sobriety test was given or that an arrest was made. " "One source told CNN that Kennedy told a police officer he was late for a vote." (yeah...at 3:00 am...guess he was REAL late!) Interesting they drove him home. I wonder if I "appeared intoxicated" after driving into an immovable object if they would be so polite as to drive me home. Also somewhat amusing that "(statement) was issued after news reports surfaced about the accident." I thought Cheney was soundly criticized for not reporting his accident immediately. Also, for some reason, feels just a little like deja vu all over again. Oh, wait...nobody died this time. My bad. You would think somebody in that family would be smart enough to hire a driver.

Governor Granholm: Symbolism over substance

The Grand Governor wants us all to sign a petition so that President Bush will do something about gas prices. Funny, I didn't think the President was the one who set gas prices, I thought it was the market. Perhaps she should go back to Econ 101 and learn about supply and demand. And what happens when government intervenes? (can you say shortages/rationing/limited supply?) Maybe if the Governor really gave a rat's behind about us poor common folk she would consider reducing the windfall that the state treasury is reaping. The state sales tax is collected on the retail price (including excise taxes...don't you love paying tax on a tax?) so by her calculations sales tax receipts on gasoline are up 240% since 2001. And let us not forget the much needed windfall profits tax. Could someone please explain to me how a tax increase will lower the price of gas?

Tax dollars up in smoke

Flint Township paid five employees double time for ten hours to make 9,600 fliers? At a cost of $2,100? Has no one in that office heard of Kinko's? I'd have stood at my copier for half that (and provided the paper). And then they didn't even use the fliers...they burned them. And Linda Barber wonders why township residents feel they pay too much tax?
